The full-size light-duty truck class includes several long-running nameplates, each offering potent powertrains and strong towing and hauling abilities. The Ram 1500 distinguishes itself from the crowd with superior refinement and peerless ride quality. Since its fifth generation debuted in 2019, the Ram 1500 has been the segment's only truck to receive Car and Driver 10 Best recognition, earning the prestigious accolade six years in a row (2019 - 2024).
The new Ram 1500 has an updated exterior design that's sleeker and more refined while retaining the model's signature bold character. Under the hood, a new Stellantis Hurricane engine debuts in regular and high-output versions. This 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six delivers more power, smoother operation, and improved efficiency over the outgoing 5.7 V8.
The Ram 1500 leans into its high-tech nature with several new display options, including 12.0-inch and 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreens, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a 10.25-inch front-passenger screen, and a 10-inch full-color head-up display. Finally, an all-new top-tier Tungsten trim joins the lineup, dialing up the luxury premium quilted leather upholstery, massaging front seats, a Klipsch high-end audio system, and more.
Standard propulsion for the Ram 1500 Tradesman and Big Horn trims remains the trusty 3.6-liter V6 with eTorque (a mild-hybrid system), delivering 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. With a max tow rating of 7,750 pounds, the base engine is ideal for everyday light-duty jobs.
The new Hurricane engine is available for the first two trims and standard in all higher tiers. In its standard configuration, this 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six generates 420 horsepower and 469 pound-feet of torque. Limited, Limited Longhorn, and Tungsten models get a "High Output" version, boosting performance to 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque. Both versions of the Hurricane boast higher horsepower, torque, and efficiency ratings than other naturally aspirated V8 and forced-induction six-cylinder engines in the light-duty segment.
The new Ram 1500 delivers unparalleled refinement in the full-size light-duty segment. The cabin is stylish and spacious, with modern design details, quality materials, and ample passenger space, and the seats are nicely cushioned and supportive for long-distance comfort. Rear-seat occupants, in particular, will appreciate the class-exclusive reclining seats and the best-in-class legroom (45.2 inches) offered in Crew Cab models. Excellent acoustic insulation and available active noise-canceling technology combine to create a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Or you can turn up your favorite music with the all-new available 23-speaker Klipsch Reference Premiere audio system.
The Ram 1500 offers a wealth of features to make life and work a little easier, including exterior attributes like a spray-in bed liner, a swing-open multifunction tailgate, and convenient storage compartments. Numerous technologies are available to simplify the towing experience, including Trailer Reverse Guidance, a Digital Rearview Mirror with Tow Mode, and a 360-degree camera system with trailer coverage. Plus, while you can enjoy a pleasantly refined ride in any Ram 1500 configuration, higher tiers deliver a truly deluxe experience with premium amenities like:
An 8.4-inch Uconnect® 5 touchscreen and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration are now standard in Tradesman and Big Horn trims, replacing the previous 5-inch display. Laramie, Rebel, and Limited trims upgrade to a 12-inch touchscreen with integrated navigation. Or you can get the all-new 14.4-inch touchscreen, which is standard in the Ram 1500 Tungsten and available for many supporting tiers.
An available 12-inch digital gauge cluster is customizable to your view preferences, while the available 10-inch head-up display lets you monitor various driving metrics and navigation details without taking your eyes off the road. There's also an available 10.25-inch front-passenger touchscreen with device mirroring, navigation, streaming, and video capability.
While there's no substitute for staying alert behind the wheel, it's nice to know you have backup to help mitigate the unexpected. The Ram 1500 supports your attentive driving with a comprehensive roster of cutting-edge driver aids, including many as standard equipment. Even the base trim includes technologies like:
Additional driver aids are available, depending on the configuration, including a Surround-View Camera System, Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, and the new Hands-Free Active Driving Assist System.
